KDC EVENTS

KDC Family, as we continue to pray and seek the Lord, this Sunday we will gather online at 10AM.

Please understand that this is not a decision based out of fear but instead, we are acting out of wisdom and obedience to God. He is love and has a plan and purpose for every life.  Though we are not meeting in person, we know that Sunday's online service will be life-changing as Dr. J. Calvin Tibbs continues to teach about the Kingdom of God through the lens of purpose! Please continue to pray, stay healthy, and be encouraged!

   QUICK PEACH COBBLER

Ingredients:

30 oz. frozen peach slices

2 frozen deep-dish pie crusts

½ cup white sugar

½ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground cloves

1 tablespoon corn starch

1 stick butter (salted)

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Procedure:      (preheat oven to 425 degrees)

Thaw pie crusts overnight in the refrigerator.

Take frozen peaches out of packages. Place in a bowl, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice & set aside.

Remove both pie crusts from the refrigerator. Being careful to not cut through the aluminum pan, cut each pie crust into 8 triangles. (cut in half to make 2 sections, then cut again to make 4, then cut each section once again, making a total of 8 triangles) Return one of the completed crusts back into the refrigerator.

Using a glass baking dish (i.e. 8x8 square pan or rectangular dish of similar volume), spray with a non-stick spray, like Pam. Carefully remove the pie crust triangles one at a time and place them on the bottom of your baking dish. Arrange them in any pattern you desire, and place in the preheated oven. ** Bake approximately 10-15 minutes until almost golden brown. Remove from oven, set aside. LOWER THE OVEN TEMP TO 375 DEGREES.

**TIME TO MIX THE SPICES WHILE CRUST BAKING…

In a bowl, combine all sugar, spices & cornstarch. Mix thoroughly.

Using approximately 1/3 of the spice mixture, add to the peaches and lightly stir until all peaches are coated. Pour the peaches into the pan with the baked triangles of crust.  Remove other pie crust from the refrigerator and set aside until ready to use.

Evenly sprinkle rest of the spice mixture over the peaches in the baking dish. Cut the entire stick of butter into slices roughly 1/8” thick, and randomly place them on top of peach mixture.  Take the pieces of the remaining pie crust and arrange them on top of the butter slices in whatever pattern you choose.

Place the baking dish on a cookie sheet lined with foil.   Bake approximately 1 hour until the crust is golden brown.  Once cooled, serve with a scoop of ice cream on top.
